How Saiyai Law came to be

Saiyai Law was established in Bangkok by practitioners who had seen, over many years, how the tone of a legal process shapes the outcome for families. When the approach is confrontational, even resolvable situations can become prolonged and painful. When it is calm and structured, families tend to find their footing faster — and with less lasting difficulty.

The name Saiyai draws from the Thai word for thread — a quiet image of something that connects, holds, and carries through. That is what we try to offer: a steady thread through a complicated time, rather than a hammer.

Our practice focuses entirely on family matters — separation, parenting arrangements, and cooperative agreements. We have chosen not to expand into unrelated legal areas because depth of focus matters here. Families who come to us deserve practitioners who understand the emotional texture of what they are going through, not just the technical procedures.

We work with both Thai nationals and international residents in Bangkok and the surrounding area. Many of our clients are navigating cross-cultural family situations, and we approach these with the same care and without assumptions about how things "should" be resolved.

Our guiding approach

We do not pressure clients toward faster resolutions than they are comfortable with. We do not use language designed to alarm. We aim to make the legal part of a difficult personal situation as clear and as manageable as possible — and then we step back and let families lead the way.

How we work, and what that means for you

Full Confidentiality

All client information is handled under Thai professional confidentiality standards. We do not share, sell, or disclose anything discussed in our consultations.

Thai Law Compliance

All work is grounded in current Thai family law. We keep our knowledge of legislative updates current so our advice reflects the actual legal landscape.

Plain-Language Documentation

Every document we prepare is written so that it can be understood by the people it affects — not just by other lawyers. We explain what each clause means before anyone signs.

No Rushed Decisions

We do not push clients toward fast conclusions. Family decisions have lasting effects, and we believe it is our role to support thoughtful choices — not quick ones.

Cross-Cultural Awareness

We work with families from varied backgrounds and nationalities. Our approach adapts to cultural context without making assumptions about values or expectations.

Data Protection

Client records are stored securely and in line with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). We only hold information necessary for the matter at hand.

Family law in Bangkok, handled with care

Family legal matters in Thailand involve both emotional weight and procedural complexity. The Civil and Commercial Code governs marriage, parental authority, maintenance, and property division — but the practical reality of each family's situation requires something beyond technical knowledge. It requires judgement, sensitivity, and the willingness to listen carefully.

Saiyai Law operates from Ekkamai in Bangkok, serving clients across the Watthana district and throughout the greater Bangkok area. Our practice draws on years of experience in Thai family law, and we are particularly familiar with the challenges that arise when families span more than one country or legal system.

Whether a family is at the beginning of a difficult conversation, or has been working through matters for some time and needs clearer structure, we can help. Our role is to reduce uncertainty, not to add to it.
